The Primary Language Curriculum has been introduced to all classes from September 2019 and the expectation for handwriting under this curriculum is that children will be able to write legibly and fluently in a chosen script, using a personal style and be able to present text in a range of formats.
Research has shown print style to be as fast to write as cursive.
